Donor generosity enabled student success, faculty excellence, and rich global experiences on and off campus.
The College’s ambitious effort to reimagine the interdisciplinary arts and sciences for today’s complex world is based on three foundations: Student Success, Faculty and Research Excellence, and Weinberg in the World. Throughout the “We Will” Campaign, gifts to each of the three foundations energized this effort.
Gifts toward Student Success included support for Arch Scholars, the College’s suite of programs for first-generation, low-income students; undergraduate research, including a naming gift for the program; career exploration; the curriculum; scholarships: and more. These gifts ensure all students succeed in the classroom, on campus, and after graduation.
By supporting Faculty Excellence, our alumni, parents, and friends were joined by large foundations and corporations in funding ground breaking research across a range of disciplines, named professorships to recognize world-renowned scholars, and centers and programs that bring our world-class faculty together to collaborate in investigating fundamental questions and the pressing issues of our times.
Scholarship beyond classroom walls–Weinberg in the World–was strengthened by gifts that ensure faculty and students can learn, engage in rigorous inquiry, and share viewpoints in a broader context. Investments in the global studies curriculum allowed the College to form the Weinberg College Center for International and Area Studies, while fellowship funds allowed students to travel to conduct research through programs such as Global Health Studies.
